Tutorials - Photoshop - Vintage Effect

This tutorial was created for Photoshop CS2.
Any other programs may or may not work. :D

1. Open up a picture in photoshop. I choose this one of Angelina Jolie. Verify that your Layers palette is open, by going to Windows > Layers. (There should be a checkmark by it!)

2. Now go to Layer > Duplicate Layer.

3. Set this new layer to Soft Light.

4. See how it makes the picture more clear and contrasted? :D

5. Add a new layer, by clicking the button boxed in red.

6. Fill that layer with this color (using the paint bucket tool): 000d5e. Can't find the paint bucket tool? Look below in the comments. Set the layer to Exclusion.

7. Your picture should look similar to the one below. You can either leave it like that, or continue on.

8. Click the bottom layer. Go to Layer > Duplicate, again.

9. Drag this new layer to the top. Set it to soft light, again.

10. ALL DONE. :) Your picture's effect should resemble this:
